Earnest | Atcom
Earnest is a London-based studio who we have worked with on several templating projects. Their client ATCOM, an e-commerce platform, needed a PowerPoint template built from Earnest's design artwork.
The brief was to build a 17-slide PowerPoint to match supplied studio InDesign artwork. Our biggest challenge was dealing with the time difference between London and Melbourne, but the fact that their team was able to send us feedback at the end of their working day and we could work on the project while they slept, meant that this turned out to be an unexpected benefit.
Project scope & features
- Build 16:9 screen ratio for PowerPoint, using Office 365 on a PC, to be compatible with PowerPoint for Mac and with the ability to be uploaded and edited in Google Sheets
- Arial font theme
- Included custom-shaped changeable images
- One 17 slide PowerPoint template
We established a system whereby a draft version of the template was waiting for Earnest the morning after it had been requested.
The build itself didn’t present us with technical challenges, as the design specifications were ideal for a Microsoft build: using Arial as the theme font, and the recommended six brand colours, supplied in RGB within the artwork. The template also included some icons and layouts based on tables, both of which are simple to use but can be tricky to build into a template. The icons were supplied as vectors, which is the best format for us to convert to an appropriate format for use on PowerPoint.
Why we liked it
It was rewarding to successfully work the time difference to our advantage. We’ve since completed a range of overseas projects, including further work in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Canada and ongoing work in New Zealand.
