Kolmeo is one of Australia’s leading property technology companies, providing the software that powers the country’s largest and most innovative property management businesses.
Following a rebrand, Kolmeo engaged us to design and build four Word and PowerPoint templates based on the design direction indicated in their brand guidelines.
A defining aspect of the Kolmeo brand is the use of a selection of ‘loose’ brand elements, used in conjunction with any of the brand colours. This means that there was an almost unlimited number of possible combinations for covers and specialty layouts. It was also necessary to choose the arrangements of the elements carefully, so they would appear both fresh and consistent.

We started with Kolmeo's PowerPoint template, as it was the most graphic-heavy, and we decided to have this built and approved before starting work on the Word templates.
The approach for managing a potentially large number of cover options was to use the same element configurations, but change the colours. The internal layouts deliberately had minimal use of design elements to provide some relief.
The PowerPoint was completed with minimal rounds of amendments, and we were able to apply the same rationale of simple internals, matching element groups and different colour combinations to the Word covers.

Why we liked it
We loved working with Kolmeo. Their team had a keen design eye and a thorough knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, which meant we could concentrate on how best to apply the new branding. The first couple of template designs were challenging as we worked out how best to represent the brand in the context of Word and PowerPoint, but after we established the process, it was a pleasure to roll out the remaining templates.
